HHA Season Registration FAQs
How are registration rates determined?
Registration rates are determined by a number of factors and are broken down by player level. These include hours of ice time, tournament registration costs, referee costs, WAHA fees and FHIT where applicable. Fundraising profits are factored in to partially offset these costs bringing down overall rates.
Are the costs of financing the building addition factored into registration rates?
No, debt servicing of the building is not a cost factor that is included in determining registration rates. HHA is focusing on generating additional revenue in other ways to cover debt expenses. Some of these include optimizing ice utilization from outside renters, bringing concessions back in-house, capitalizing on additional advertising and naming rights opportunities.
What is the status of HHA debt structure?
The Board and Finance Committee have been working diligently on strategic planning and opportunities to reduce debt. While not yet resolved, progress has been made. HHA is excited for the upcoming season and will continue to focus on financial stability.
How does HHA calculate the volunteer hour requirement?
HHA has always been a volunteer-driven organization. As our association continues to grow, so do the responsibilities required to operate smoothly and provide a high-quality experience for both our members and visiting teams. While we now have a small number of employees, volunteer support remains essential.
The return of in-house concessions last year added approximately 1,600–2,000 additional volunteer hours annually. In addition, concessions now operate year-round to support off-season tournaments and events. To better align with these expanded needs, we have extended the volunteer timeframe to a full year rather than limiting opportunities primarily to the season.
These efforts play a key role in generating revenue that supports HHA programs and facilities, and we rely on member participation to make them successful.
