HHA Season Registration FAQs

How are registration rates determined?

Registration rates are determined by a number of factors and are broken down by player level. These include hours of ice time, tournament registration costs, referee costs, WAHA fees and FHIT where applicable. Fundraising profits are factored in to partially offset these costs bringing down overall rates.

Why are registration rates increasing over last year?

After completing the analysis with all of the direct cost drivers it was determined that a rate increase was necessary to cover the direct costs of HHA programming. The Finance Committee also gathered information from neighboring associations in both WI and MN to compare to HHA rates and volunteer requirements to ensure fair costs to our membership.

Are the costs of financing the building addition factored into registration rates?

No, debt servicing of the building is not a cost factor that is included in determining registration rates. HHA is focusing on generating additional revenue in other ways to cover debt expenses. Some of these include optimizing ice utilization from outside renters, bringing concessions back in-house, capitalizing on additional advertising and naming rights opportunities.

What is the status of HHA debt structure?

The Board and Finance Committee have been working diligently on strategic planning and opportunities to reduce debt. While not yet resolved, progress has been made. HHA is excited for the upcoming season and will continue to focus on financial stability.

Why is the volunteer hour requirement increasing?

With concessions being brought back in-house it is estimated that 1600 - 2000 hours will be added to HHAs volunteer needs. Concessions also need to be open year round to support off season tournaments and events. It is critical that HHA capitalizes on this additional revenue opportunity and needs your support to make it successful.
