Frequently Asked Questions

What are the credits that I’ve purchased?

You have purchased credits.  Each of those credits can be used to attend a class. Flex Sports uses the credit system so that students do not have to attend the same class time or day every week. This means that you must sign your skater up for the desired class time ahead of time.  You do this by going to your skater’s locker, view upcoming activities, and click sign up.  Another way to sign up is to Click on your LTS group page, scroll down to activity schedule, click any available date/time, and click sign up.

Do I have to attend the same class every week?

No! Hudson is excited to partner with Flexx Sports who have designed a program to best fit all families’ schedules .  This means you can use a credit/attend a class during ANY available session for your age group.

What skates should I use?

For new skaters under the age of 6, we recommend starting them in figure skates to learn proper balance and technique, even if they want to become a hockey player.  We suggest switching back to hockey skates when they are comfortable doing crossovers.  We highly discourage double bladed skates.

What if I don't own skates?

Hudson hockey does not have any rentals. You must bring your own skates.

What type of clothing should I wear?

Make sure to dress warm with a pair of gloves.  Snow pants might be a good idea for beginners.  We strongly recommend and encourage the use of a helmet.  Both hockey or biking helmets work well.  Students are learning the essentials of skating, therefore it is strongly advised for skaters to leave the hockey gear at home, especially for Tots and Beginners.

Is there a discount for families?

We do not offer a discount for families with multiple LTS students; however, buying the 20 pack allows you to skate over the course of the entire year at a discounted price. We do offer open skating after some LTS classes and it’s free for skate students.

What happens if I have to miss a class?

We allow for rescheduling up to 24 hours before your class.  In the event you miss a class without canceling, you will lose that credit.
