In an effort to improve concussion treatment and clearance for play, HHA is now offering baseline ImPACT testing thru Catalyst Sports Medicine. There will be two testing sessions available for HHA members to do this at a reduced price. These dates are Tuesday, October 4th at 6p, 7p or 8pm; and Thursday, October 6th at 6pm.
Testing will take place at the Hudson High School. The discounted cost will be $25 for those who attend on one of these two dates. You will pay when you arrive, please bring a check payable to Catalyst. Makeup sessions outside of these sessions at Catalyst will be ~$35. Space is limited so register soon to reserve your spot! To register contact Joe Madigan via email at firstname.lastname@example.org
The ImPACT test is a simple computer based test that objectively quantifies an athletes baseline neurocognitive function so that their physician can better assess the athlete’s readiness to return to play if they ever do suffer a concussion. It is the same test offered to athletes at Hudson High School and around the country. The test is designed for ages 12 years and up, tested every 2 years. However athletes as young as 10 years old may register and test.
Check out the concussions tab for more information. Your child’s physician may have more information and recommendations as well. You can contact Michael Renfro with Catalyst (email@example.com) or Joe Madigan (HHA) with any questions.
